So what’s happening to the Empire?
 
As you would have noticed if you’ve come into the pub in the last few months; we’re undergoing renovations.  We've just unveiled the first stage of the new look Empire; a brand new sports bar complete with TAB facilities and new plasma screens with Fox Sports for all the action.  There's also an outdoor terrace so the smokers among us won’t be forced out onto the street when the new smoke free laws kick in.
The next step will be to refurbish the entertainment area with a new stage and state-of-the-art audio and lighting equipment.  Of course with good news, often comes bad.  This process will take approximately 3 months which unfortunately means 3 months without live music.

We will try to fill the void with other forms of entertainment; a new juke box will keep the tunes pumping and Wednesday nights at 8pm Pommy Andy will be running trivia. (www.pommyandy.com).
Each weekend we’ll bring you all the action from the NRL and we’re working on something special for Monday night Footy.  And for the rugby fans, there’ll be a second foxtel connection for the
Super 14’s.

 For all you talented artists out there, if you want to rock out on our new stage (which will have a backstage area so no more storing your gear in the hallway), we won’t be making any bookings for a while as we want to make sure we’ve got a definite re-opening date first.
